In early October Cystic Fibrosis Canada staff came together to assemble 100 Newborn Resource Kits which are designed to support families during the time of a new diagnosis of cystic fibrosis.
The Newborn Resource Kits were developed in 2013 from “Kaiden’s Care Kits” created by Helen Meinzinger, Kaiden Ames’ mum and adapted by Cystic Fibrosis Canada. The resource kits have essential resources that are needed to support a families’ cystic fibrosis journey, such as, precursor cups, oral syringes, nesting jars, and hand sanitizers to name a few. The kits also contain reading materials on cystic fibrosis and tools to help parents and caregivers feel confident in caring for their child. The resource kits aim to support and connect families to their local cystic fibrosis clinics, to Cystic Fibrosis Canada chapters and to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
Cystic Fibrosis Canada would like to thank Mylan for continuing to sponsor the Newborn Resource Kits which are extremely valuable to newly diagnosis infants and families. Cystic Fibrosis Canada would also like to thank Johnson & Johnson for donating multiple products to the kits, and for everyone who supported the assembly of the Newborn Resource Kits.
