A Day in My Shoes: Stefanie Cali

The launch of our awareness month also brings the launch of a new video series, A Day In My Shoes. Each video captures the perspective of five people in our cystic fibrosis (CF) community, including individuals living with CF, a volunteer, sibling, and a spouse. When you donate to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, not only are you supporting the 4,000+ people in Canada living with CF, but you’re also supporting their loved ones. These are their stories.

Stefanie Cali’s Story

“When I married Erick, I gained a loving husband and a lifelong friend. I also gained the burden of a fatal genetic disease – cystic fibrosis. Despite our best efforts to share a relatively ‘normal’ life together, CF has managed to invade every facet of our relationship. Everything we do is affected by CF from the smallest decisions to the most important life choices.

“Cystic fibrosis is always front and centre and a constant reminder that our life together is anything but typical. Regardless, this is my life and my reality. And no matter what may happen next, I know that Erick and I are in this battle together. And so Erick and I continue to fight, waiting for a day when we can finally breathe easy together.”

Even a small donation to Cystic Fibrosis Canada makes a major difference. Donate today and help us create a world without CF.
