In Canada, there has been an increasing shortage of physicians who are qualified to care for people with cystic fibrosis. In an effort to address this shortage, Cystic Fibrosis Canada developed the Clinical Fellowship Award. This award provides support to licensed physicians, allowing them to dedicate their time specifically to CF training for a full year – typically in a large, high-output CF clinic.
To date, the Clinical Fellowship award has been extremely successful, and every physician who has received the award has gone on to have a strong affiliation with a CF clinic in Canada – in fact, two past recipients are now CF Clinic Directors!
Cystic Fibrosis Canada is pleased to announce that following review and adjudication by the Healthcare Advisory Council, three individuals will receive a Clinical Fellowship this year, the maximum number of awards available. We are most grateful to Dr. Ana Blanchard, Dr. Sophie Corriveau and Dr. Emad Saad for their interest in providing specialized CF care to the Canadian population, and to the host institutions who will be supplying the training.
We wish this year’s Cystic Fibrosis Canada Clinical Fellows the best, for a productive fellowship, and we look forward to their continued involvement with the Canadian CF clinical community.
