Q&A with Cystic Fibrosis Canada Volunteer, Leah Senecal

What’s your involvement with CF Canada (are you a volunteer, donor, event organizer, etc.)?

I have been volunteering with CF Canada for 2 years now as the Media Coordinator for the Sault Ste. Marie Chapter.

What is your connection to CF?

During my first job out of university I met a wonderful co-worker Frieda and we have become great friends. When I found out that Frieda’s daughter has CF, and I knew I had to help so I got involved as soon as I could.   This year’s walk was the third annual for Sault Ste. Marie, and I told the committee to expect me to help until we #ENDCF

What has been the greatest highlight of supporting CF Canada for you?

I have met some of the most amazing and influential people in my life. It is amazing to see what all of the volunteers have been able to accomplish for CF Canada, raising awareness and funds to find a cure/control for CF.

Why do you think it’s important to support CF Canada?

I had the opportunity to attend the 2017 Ontario VLF Conference. It was shocking to hear how CF affects families and how different people experience the symptoms. It is important to continue CF Canada’s great work in educating the media and Canadians about our accomplishments and new advances.

What will #aworldwithoutCF mean to you?

A world where people can live their lives to the fullest and not fear what tomorrow may bring.
