On Sunday, September 18, about 125 cyclists and one marathon runner from the legal community (lawyers, judges, notaries, bailiffs, legal officers, court clerks and paralegals) took part in the fourth edition of the Juritour to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Quebec.
For a fourth consecutive year this annual fall event, which is eagerly awaited by over a hundred legal professionals, helped participants learn a bit more about cystic fibrosis.
“Mr. Claude Provencher’s annual invitation has once again received an overwhelmingly positive response from participants. My congratulations to the members of the organizing committee and to the volunteers for raising nearly $120,000,” stated the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Honorary President, whose cousin suffers from the disease. “Yet another successful edition!”
Once again this year, the activity enabled cyclists to discover the beautiful scenery of the Montérégie region on 45‑km and 100‑km courses. And for the very first time during this event, Mr. Anthony Battah ran a total distance of 45 km.
Several partners supported the event, including belairdirect, BDO, la Chambre des notaires du Québec, the Canadian Bar Insurance Association, McCarthy Tétrault LLP, Sun Life Financial, Sarrazin Plourde, Barrette et Associés, Wilson & Lafleur Publishing, l’Oréal Paris, the Canadian Association of Paralegals, Lafortune Legal, Irving Mitchell Kalichman (IMK), Handfield et Associés, SOQUIJ Intelligence juridique, Lamarre‑Linteau & Montcalm and Legal Suite.
