What brings you joy?

We celebrated Thanksgiving just a few days ago. This national holiday is a great opportunity to give thanks and enjoy quality time with family and friends. This time can also be used to reflect on your journey, your milestones and all the things that bring you joy throughout life. Here is what a few of our community members have to say about what brings them joy:

“I am thankful for having such a strong support system. I would have never had the successes I’ve had over the last few years without the compassion and encouragement I was shown from my family, fiancé, friends, and co-workers. As much as having CF has affected my life negatively, it has taught me invaluable lessons that I am grateful for. CF has led me to where I am today, and now that I’m here, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.” – Meaghan MacRury

“What brings me joy is that I can enjoy life with my son and my wife, while maintaining a good health, good relationships with friends and playing my music.” – Tim Vallillee

“Being with family and, as cheesy as it sounds, sharing those feel-good moments with people that I love, brings me an incredible amount of joy. During these times I also can’t help but reflect on just how lucky I am.” – Kim Wood

“My family brings me the most joy. I love watching them grow physically, in their journey of life. My dogs and America’s Funniest Home videos come second and third in the list!” – Rob Burtch

“Being alive brings me joy! Even on my worst days, I remember that I am alive as result of another family’s unselfishness. I have so much to be thankful for that; I cannot even begin to put it into words. Volunteering and helping others also brings me joy.  I often think of how many volunteers have helped promote and raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis over the years and that it directly contributed to me being alive today.  Giving back in whatever way I can make me very happy and is my small way of paying it forward.” – Brenda Chambers-Ivey
