Our History
- Late 1930s – ‘cystic fibrosis’ didn’t yet have a name
- Late 1950s – Canada joins the fight against cystic fibrosis after concerned and anxious parents meet for the first time
- 1960 – Board of Directors drafts by-laws and moves to create a strong medical committee … at first, they encounter obstacles obtaining federal status
- July 15, 1960 – persistence paid off and the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (our name changed to Cystic Fibrosis Canada in February 2011) is incorporated by Federal Letters Patent
- 2010 – 50th anniversary of our organization
- February 2011 - name changes to Cystic Fibrosis Canada
