At the 26th North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference in October 2012, members of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Nurses Interest Group voted unanimously to join Cystic Fibrosis Canada. The new Cystic Fibrosis Canada Nursing Advisory Group will be a strong voice for nursing professionals specializing in cystic fibrosis care in more than 40 hospitals across Canada.
Founded over 20 years ago, the Nurses Interest Group played a key role in elevating the profile and quality of cystic fibrosis care within the Canadian health care system. It provided a professional network for cystic fibrosis nurses in Canada where members shared best practices and exchanged knowledge. Recognizing the changing landscape of health care in Canada and building on the long term relationship between the Nurses Interest Group and Cystic Fibrosis Canada, these dedicated nurses took a bold step forward by joining the Cystic Fibrosis Canada family.
The new Nursing Advisory Group will be a key partner in the implementation of Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s strategic directions, specifically in improving the quality of CF care and in advocating for access to CF therapies for our patients.
The Group’s mandate includes providing nursing and healthcare advice to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, presenting a national nursing perspective on cystic fibrosis-related issues, sharing best practices and knowledge exchange, advocating for CF patients, and providing leadership in establishing the highest standards of CF nursing care.
Cystic Fibrosis Canada looks to the Nursing Advisory Group for high quality nursing knowledge to support policy formulation on current healthcare and clinical issues, and in the implementation of advocacy strategies.
Your generous donation to Cystic Fibrosis Canada will help us support the great work of the Nursing Advisory Group.
