It all started over 24 years ago when Raye Jerrard, a grandmother of a child with Cystic Fibrosis came up with an idea to raise money for CF. She set up a wrapping booth at the downtown Eaton's centre and called it "The Looney Wrap".
Over the years, hundreds of volunteers have wrapped gifts at different Calgary locations including - Market Mall, North Hill Centre and Chinook Mall (Zellers) - in exchange for a donation to cystic fibrosis.
For our 2012 event we were located at North Hill Centre and Market Mall. Wrapping shifts began on December 1st and continued on until December 24th. Our revenue brought in this year was close to $4o,000! Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and helped make the 2012 event another huge success.
Last year (2011) a total of $38,000 was raised for cystic fibrosis research and programs; thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated and supported this annual campaign.
Special thanks to our host venues:
Market Mall and North Hill Centre
