Bequests

A bequest is the easiest and most common type of legacy gift. It is a commitment of support made through your will, to be distributed by your estate upon your death. You simply name Cystic Fibrosis Canada as a beneficiary of all, or a portion, of your assets when you write your will.

A bequest is a significant gift that has no impact on your current financial situation and Cystic Fibrosis Canada will benefit from your generosity.

Bequest Options

  • Specified gift - designates a stated amount of money or a specific piece of property, such as securities or real estate
  • Residual gift - designates all, or a percentage of, what remains in your estate after all debts, taxes, administrative expenses and specified bequests have been paid

See sample bequest clauses for wills.

Before you draft your will, please notify us of your intention to make a bequest, to ensure that all information is accurate. Your intentions will be treated confidentially.

For more information, call 416-485-9149 or 1-800-378-2233 ext. 294 or e-mail the Campaign & Major Gifts Specialist.
