Provincial Elections

Provincial elections take place this fall in PEI, Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland & Labrador, and Saskatchewan. The campaigns provide an opportunity to talk about cystic fibrosis, your personal story, the importance of high quality CF care in Canada, the work of Cystic Fibrosis Canada and our major successes to date.

Connect with local candidates and ask their position on issues of importance to the CF community. Key topics to discuss include:

  • Health care and drug coverage: review the parties’ platforms; ask local candidates about their position on access to therapies; how will their party improve access and assistance to life-sustaining therapies.
  • Income security: ask candidates how their parties’ policies will help people with CF and their families who are facing financial difficulties.
  • Caregiver support: ask candidates what their party will do to provide support and services to caregivers.
  • Research: ask candidates what their party will do to foster and support heath research and innovation.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada sent a questionnaire to the provincial parties in Ontario, Newfoundland & Labrador, and Saskatchewan. Responses will be posted below.
