On July 13th, the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) initiated an immediate voluntary recall of two Oral B mouthwash products due to possible bacterial contamination. Consumers are advised to discard the affected product and contact P&G for a refund at 1-800-566-7252.
According to Procter & Gamble, the level of contamination, if present, poses virtually no risk to healthy people. However, individuals with weakened immune systems, such as those with cystic fibrosis, may be at greater risk of adverse health effects. There have been no reports of illness.
In the interest of safety, it will be prudent to check the lot number of the affected products:
| Lot # | Product Name |
| NPN 02129930 | Oral B Anti-Cavity Dental Rinse-Alcohol Free |
| DIN 02130823 | Oral B Anti-Bacterial with Fluoride-Alcohol Free Daily Use Mouthrinse |
