On Sunday, May 29, 2016 the CARSTAR Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History hosted thousands of participants across Canada at local sites within their communities to celebrate our fundraising efforts and imagine a world without CF. This year, our walkers raised over $3.5 million and counting toward cystic fibrosis research, care and advocacy.

We rely on the generous support of our volunteers, donors and partners in our shared mission to improve the lives of Canadians living with cystic fibrosis, and ultimately realize our vision of a world without cystic fibrosis. Because of your donations, we continue to advance the battle against this devastating disease. Together we are carving new paths from research lab discoveries to the development of new treatments, and investing in a national quality improvement initiative for CF care.

Cystic fibrosis occurs when a child inherits two defective copies of the gene responsible for cystic fibrosis (one from each parent). Cumulatively, CF patients spent over 24,500 days in hospital and attended over 16,500 clinic visits in 2013. Cumulatively, CF patients attended over 16,500 clinic visits in 2013
