Dr. Louise Desjardins is currently the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. Previously, she consulted for a number of health and science not-for- profit organizations including member-based associations.
Earlier in her career, she gained extensive experience serving the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Medical Research Council of Canada for 13 years in progressive senior management positions. She also served the Government of Canada as team lead for key projects resulting in the Royal Assent of the CIHR Act. She supported and represented many of these public and private sector organizations on over 50 national and international boards and committees.
Dr. Desjardins received a B.Sc. Honours from Dalhousie University, an M.Sc. from the University of Guelph, a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the University of Ottawa. She is the recipient of numerous academic and professional awards.
