Meet Kelly Grover: Cystic Fibrosis Canada President and CEO

This week we welcome our new President and CEO, Kelly Grover, to the Cystic Fibrosis Canada family. With over 20 years of experience in a variety of health-based organizations in the charitable, public and research sectors, CF Canada is in extremely capable hands under Kelly’s leadership and vision.

We wanted to get to know a bit more about Kelly, so without further ado… meet Kelly Grover, Cystic Fibrosis Canada President and CEO!

What would you like the CF Canada community to know about you?

First I’d like everyone to know how excited I am to be part of this organization and to work on behalf of people with CF and their families. I am thrilled to be part of this community. I remember a time when there wasn’t a lot of hope for children with CF and it is beyond wonderful and inspiring to witness the progress that has been made and to think about where we can go. I look forward to being a part of the change for CF.

On a professional note, I have worked throughout my career in the healthcare sector and I am passionate about helping organizations be as impactful as they can be.

However, my most rewarding job is being a mother to my 10 year old son, Avery. I live in Toronto with my husband, our son and rescue dog. I have family from B.C. to Halifax (my grandparents moved to Quebec City in the 1970s) and I spent some time living on the East Coast.

What made you decide to join CF Canada?

I was drawn to cystic fibrosis because it is a disease I care about, as I know people who are affected. Secondly, because of the advances in research the disease is on the cusp of change and it’s motivating to know that it is possible to change the outcome for people with this disease – it is truly within our grasp.

On top of that, CF Canada has an incredible reputation, and has done great work in its investment in research and care and advocacy. Most importantly, CF Canada has a volunteer community that is second to none.

I am humbled that CF Canada has entrusted me with this position.

What are you most looking forward to at CF Canada?

I am excited to meet our amazing volunteers and am overwhelmed by the amount of fundraising being done in the chapters – it is extraordinary. The work that this organization has done is outstanding and I am excited to meet the staff and get to know my colleagues.

I want to build on our success in research and advocacy and continue to drive that forward to ensure that CF Canada makes the greatest impact possible for those diagnosed and living with CF.

What does #AWorldWithoutCF mean to you?

Ultimately, this is what motivates all of us to do the work we are doing, it is our goal. It is where we all want to be. And at this point in time it is not a lofty goal or vision, it could be within reach.

A world without CF is like the North Star – it’s what’s driving us, and this star is within reach. What an exciting time!

Please join us in welcoming Kelly!
