Is it just us, or do the months keep going by faster and faster? With the end of June comes the end of the 2015/16 school year and the beginning of summer vacation. May awareness month is behind us, but our events and activities aren’t slowing down across the country. If you’re looking for ways to get involved this summer, check out some of these great events.
LAWN SUMMER NIGHTS
If you or your kids are home from college or university, you don’t want to miss Lawn Summer Nights. The 19+ (or 18+, depending on your province) event is taking place in cities across the country (listed here). Lawn Summer Nights originally began as a tribute to Eva Markvoort, who lost her battle with cystic fibrosis in 2010 at 25. Her love for the outdoors and her friends along with her vibrant energy inspired her friends to organize the inaugural Lawn Summer Nights event, which Eva was able to take part in. Since then, the event has expanded to 10 Canadian cities and has raised over $1,000,000 for cystic fibrosis research and care.
RIDE FOR THE BREATH OF LIFE
All across Canada (from British Columbia to New Brunswick), Ride for the Breath of Life events take place in support of CF Canada. By now, some have even already taken place. The event is an annual motorcycle fundraising where riders from all backgrounds come together to help us in the fight to END CF! It’s always a successful event and a great way to get involved if you’re a motorcycle enthusiast. Learn more here.
For a complete breakdown of events happening in your community, find your regional website and check out their event calendars or visit our national event calendar. Events range from galas to golf tournaments, princess balls and more!
