National Volunteer Week 2023

Time is precious—as those in the cystic fibrosis community know all too well. So the time that volunteers offer to our organization is a truly priceless gift.

We’re grateful for our volunteers every day, but National Volunteer Week gives us the opportunity to shout our gratitude from the rooftops. Thank you! With countless demands on your time and energy, the fact that you choose to devote so much of it to the cystic fibrosis community is truly inspiring.

The theme for this year’s National Volunteer Week is Volunteering Weaves us Together – a theme that certainly fits our community. While you volunteer in different ways, we’re all here for the same reason: we love someone who is impacted by cystic fibrosis, we want to see brighter futures for those with CF.

The many ways our volunteers contribute help make our work possible, from events to advocacy work to serving in the community, partners like Kin Canada, boards and advisory committees–you bring perspective, energy, person-power, heart and insight to our work. All of that translates to our ultimate goal: improving the health and wellbeing for people living with CF.

Advocates personalize our mission and make it real for government decision-makers. Elevate members provide their firsthand expertise and input to guide our work. Change Makers, chapter volunteers and other fundraising volunteers apply their passion and creativity to raise funds so that we can drive needed change. Clinicians, researchers and people who live with cystic fibrosis contribute their expertise, experience and insights through advisory bodies and committees, helping to ensure our work is meeting the needs of our community.  Every role matters.

Your contributions amplify our impact a thousand-fold. We all share the vision of a world without cystic fibrosis and want to see Canadians with cystic fibrosis live longer, healthier lives. With your support, we’re making progress and we’ll continue to push further together.

The strides we’ve made in the past few years would not have been impossible without you. Today and every day, we thank you.
