What’s on this Fall

Just like that, August has come and gone. The summer months are nearly behind us and we’re getting ready for back to school, falling leaves and, dare we say, winter. Just because the warmer weather is on its way out though, doesn’t mean our activities are slowing down. Curious to know how you can support CF this Fall? Read on…

Shinerama is Canada’s largest post-secondary fundraiser in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Over 35,000 student volunteers from 60 Canadian universities and colleges across the country come together every year to raise money to support the fight against cystic fibrosis (CF). Student volunteers all over Canada will be putting the “fun” in fundraising by shining shoes, flipping burgers, washing cars and doing whatever it takes to raise crucial funding to fight CF. Golf Tournaments

August 30Golf Tournaments

Now that the scorching heat and days of 40-degree humidity have passed, why not get out there and enjoy some more tolerable time in the sun at one of our golf tournaments? There are several taking place across the country throughout September and they present a great opportunity to dust off your clubs and work on your swing all while supporting the fight against CF. They feature food, drinks, prizes, silent auctions and one even has a pyrotechnic show. Click through below to find out where you can see it.

In Saskatchewan, the Fairway of Dreams Charity Golf Classic is taking place in Warman and the 7th Annual Hunter’s Golf for CF is in Greenwater Provincial Park. In Ontario, the Tillie Sheppard Memorial Golf Tournament is taking place in King, and Kaiden’s Classic is over in Ottawa. Finally, in Quebec, the Tournoi de golf Élan d’Espoir is happening in Beauceville. See you on the fairway!

Squash CF

August 30_Squash CF

Squash CF is happening in November in North Bay and Ottawa in Ontario as well as Kingston, Nova Scotia. Grab your friends and family and come launch some pumpkins! We have giant slingshots and catapults, as well as kid-sized ones so everyone can participate. This is a great event that brings together hundreds of families from across the region for a fun-filled day of games, live entertainment, music and great food. Details on the Kingston, NS event can be found here; head over here for the Ontario-specific details.

Will we be seeing you at any events this Fall? Be sure to regularly check your local chapter’s event calendar (found here), as well as the national calendar to see what other exciting events are going on!
