WALK WITH US TO MAKE CYSTIC FIBROSIS HISTORY
The CARSTAR Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History will be taking place on Sunday May 29, 2016 in more than 80 communities across Canada. This year, we have engaged seven regional spokespeople across the country to help us spread the word about why we are fundraising to make cystic fibrosis history.
One of our seven regional spokespeople includes Christina Butts, from Summerside, PEI. Christina is a bright, blue-eyed, four-year-old girl with cystic fibrosis. She loves gymnastics, biking, colouring, being a good friend and she especially loves her dog Beanz.
Christina was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was just 14-days-old through her cord blood. Her uncle Samuel also has cystic fibrosis, so Christina’s family knew early on that there was a chance of her developing CF as well. Cystic fibrosis has not stopped Christina from facing all her challenges with a smile on her face and love in her heart —unless it's a needle. We are positive that her determination will serve her very well in the future. Christina and her family made the decision very early on to raise awareness, teach people about CF and share why their support means so much for them. Every year since she was born, Christina has been at a Walk with a big smile on her face.
Christina, her uncle Samuel, and their entire family are walking to make cystic fibrosis history. They hope that you will join them on May 29, 2016 at the CARSTAR Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History in your local community. You can register, donate and fundraise at www.cysticfibrosis.ca/walk
Together, we can make a difference.
