Leona Pinsky trained as a lawyer and practised for several years before turning her attention to volunteer work. She has been an active volunteer leader in her community for over thirty years. She is co-founder of the 65 Roses Gala and GearUp4CF which have raised over $7 million for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Leona joined the board of Cystic Fibrosis Canada in 2012 and most recently was the Vice-Chair. In addition to fundraising, Leona’s board interests include best practices in governance and ensuring the organization includes and is directed by the needs of the people living with CF and their families. Leona has also served on the board of the BC Centre for Children’s Hearing and Speech and on advisory committees at BC Children’s Hospital, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Vancouver Talmud Torah Elementary School and the Canadian Bar Association. She holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University. Leona is a CF parent.
